audi 90 hates water

Default audi 90 hates water

heya all, new prob on das audi. basicaqlly everytime it hit a pudde with any speed, my car dies, will start afterwards, but will stall out right after, also lose throttle response for the 1st 10 seconds of running. any thoughts?

I think that there should a flap like cover for the steering linkages. Often these get brittle and break off, leaving a large hole. Audi ignition is not very water resistant and easily fails even with new wires, rotor and cap.

well, those flaps seem to be present, car still dies when wet. stalls every few minutes in the rain. any upgrade ideas? as this royally sucks

My Audi used to the same until I changed the ignition wires, rotor and cap. It helped quite a bit. If you already have changed these components then the problem might be with the electrical wiring under the hood. You will need to go over all the wiring and check the connectors for torn boots and corroded contacts you will also need to check the ground points and straps. The alternator on the 2.3L is also mounted in a bad place and is prone to getting splashed might be a good idea to check it as well.
