Default central locking upgrade

Hello all,https://www.audiforums.com/forum/ima...es/biggrin.gif
I have just got a central locking upgrade for my Audi 100 c4 2.6 v6 on a 1994 plate, I bought the car with key operating central locking, the upgrade is remote operated, which I thought would be better, as the locks are getting a little worn after 15 years, the problem is I don't know where to hook it in, the haynes manual is very vague regarding central locking, do I wire it in to the wiring at the pump under the back seat or is there a control unit else where, or is the pump also the control unit as the pump has 3 multi plugs and on disconecting 1 of them the car alarm wouldn't arm. the wiring diagram in the manual are of no help as none of the wiring colour coding matches, the new remote only uses 3 wires open, close and common, I thought it would be easy!!!
any help would be very gladly recieved as at the pump there most be 20+ wires to try and decipher.
Thanks to any one who can help.

Yes I took the back seat out and removed the pump from it cosy foam blanket, there are 3 multi-plugs and each plug has at least 6 wires, I can only think that the pump is merged with the control unit for the central locking and also the alarm, you can open the boot with the key whilst the alarm is still set and then it re-arms when you close it again, little things like this is probably why there are so many wires and I don't want to knacker the alarm set up, its kind of a must have round here!!
cheers Neil
