Default Cooling system

I have an 1988 Audi 90 I need to add some antifreeze for the winter and I am not sure of what type is safe for my car?

Is it the Blue Pentosin Antifreeze?

Thanks,
Matt

you can add all color antifries or if its like a cup or two you can add distiled water. but the original that you have is much batter. i think its blue. just go by the color that you have alrady in the expansion tank.

You shouldn't really mix the blue stuff with the red or the green stuff. There is no harm done but they are different. The blue Pentosin is phosphate free so it is supposed last about two years and give you extra protection against electrolysis. Pentosin evaporates to a white powdery residue the green stuff doesn't evaporate easily and feels rather oily. If you can't get Pentosin go to VW or Audi dealer and buy a gallon of their stuff, it's actually cheaper. Locally two bottles of Pentosin runs about $20 for 3 liters while a gallon (3.78 liters) runs about $18.
