Default Electric coolant fan

Should the electric coolant fan run all the time, even when it is cold outside? The car is an 1990-90 2WD.
Thanks, Jay

Default your solution

yes i hope you find this to live up its title... if your fan runs all the time (even on startup from cold?) it is because your fan switch which is located in the radiator has shorted itself out. "Radiator Fan Switch" i guess it is - on my car it costed $46 thru auto zone. good luck

had the same thing happen on my 87 4kq replaced the radiator fan switch and all better. on the 4k it was a easy fix. just had to drain the radiator. pull the old switch out and put the new one in and then refill the radiator fluid after. good luck
