idle adjustment screw keeps popping out while driving....
car is a 87 5kt, i've been having some no start problems related to the hall sender and the other day while driving the car stalled when i slowed down to park. the idle adjustment screw came out. i went to a friend who happened to have another one, put that in, got it running better than it ever had, went to drive home, car dies at a traffic light on rt 9, the screw came out again. for some reason i think when i hit 1.3 bar(on the stock gauge) the screw gets forced out of the hole. any thoughts on this? and any idea where i can get some more idle screws?
on top of the throttle body of the 87 turbo, there is a screw that when you turn it you can adjust the idle. hense the term "idle adjustment screw"
not so much an idle setting screw but an air flow rate ( if pressed hard while adjusting it will cut the engine off ) why? because you let excess air in because of the pressure you put on the screw, have you cleaned the plate ( very similar to a throttle body setup but the older type ) excellent setup type
edit:- the system is called VAF (variable air flow ) and newer cars have MAF ) VAF is tunable and MAF isn't without computer support like VAG

OH the air flow adjustment screw -- That is different - I thought you might be talking about the throttle stop screw on the throttle body that is near the end of the cable opposite the TPS and could not figure out how pressure was blowing it out. Mine has a lock nut to keep it from moving.
Maybe call these guys?
