Help with diagnosis and next steps would be appreciated for an instrument panel light problem.

About six months ago, the dash panel lights flickered off while cruising down the freeway. Just for second, barely long enough for me to know whether I'd really noticed it at all. Then a few days later they went off for a few minutes and came back on. Over the following days, they would operate some times and not at others. The phenomenon had no real relationship to whether the car was on or off. Sometimes the lights being on or off seemed correlated to moving the signal stalk, other times not (the signal switch was rebuilt about 25K ago). I have no problems with the headlamps or any other lights... just the IP lights and everything that seems to be on that circuit (climate control lights, etc.)

Suggestions? Relay? ???

I have the same issue! Though right now its only my head light indicator right now.

 

Did y'all get this problem taken care of? Because I'm having Is Panel lighting problems

 

Unfortunately, I still have the problem. Have not driven the car since about this time last year, when I took it off the road to do the brakes... and had an unfortunate experience with the local garage.

The problem only affects the instrument panel and console lights so I had taken to carrying a small LED light with me to flash on the IP whenever I needed help figuring out how fast I was going. My recollection is that the radio lights worked so the really important question of what radio station I was on was always under control!

Please let me know if you get some insight into this issue.
