i hope this isnt the start of things to go wrong on my 87. Right now i'm trying to get the car ready for inspection, and when i started her up this morning i said ot myself "wow the exhaust sounds a lot deeper than i remember" and i drove it all morning and on my way back home i stopped at a 711. Pulling out of the 711 i hear KLANG and a scraping noise and i said "what the heck broke now" i pulled over and looked under the car and whatdya know, the outlet of the front muffler rusted off, and all the rubber grommets holding the system up were broken. I removed the back muffler and tied up the rest with a coat hanger i had in the trunk... I was planning on chopping out the back muffler, and running straight pipe back from the front one to get a better sound but now i have to buy a whole new front muffler... I love the sound its got now, but the guys at the inspection station won't like it very much without a tailpipe...


i need help finding a new muffler, or a way to repair what is there. i dont believe it is possible nor recommended to weld a muffler back together, but i really don't have the money right now for a new one(retail at about 140...)[/align]
