My car currently does not have a trip computer etc, but it does have the self check system. How difficult is it to add the trip computer functions? I know you obviously need the other type of wiper switch but what else has to be done? Thanks.

You need the display assembly and a new wiper switch, then you will need to calibrate the whole thing according to the instructions in the service manual.
