i`m about to buy a 1985 audi 4000s 5 cylinder fwd the only problem is its an automatic im thinking about making it a 5 speed anyone know what vw tranny would bolt up or need a few easy mods to put it in??

Nice to bad it isnt turboed hehe..Welcome to the club I got an 86 4000s 4cylinder..
You should be able to find an 85 4000s 5cylinder tranny throughout parts websites, try OEM's, and ill try to find some sites for you..Try googling Shokan, they are awesome just contact them and see if they have a tranny..
