Coupe quattro 1989, 2,226cc engine.

Oil and filter changed recently, oil pressure gauge reads normally (2 bar idle, 4 bar driving) and the engine sounds good. But every time the revs hit 3,000 the oil light flashes and a bleeper sounds.

I've been guessing at what it can be and searched using Google but I haven't found anything that matches my problem. Anyone seen this before?

i had the same problem, when i brought my 84 ur , driveing it home the oil light came on , scary stuff, as i had no other gauges, found it to be the oil pressure switch was incorrect, now fitted with oil gauges so i can keep an eye on things ,hope this can help.
