Default Remove steering wheel and cap on '83 5000 series

Hi there, I apologize for my first post being a question but I'll make it up to you

There was a short behind my steering wheel resulting in the fact that I can now only drive with my high beams on or my city lights, not with the normal low beams. Also the horn now does not work anymore. Both are not a fuse issue, I have checked. I am guessing the high beams stay on because there is a permanent contact now. Also: I found a (burnt through!) little spring when I was checking for the short.

So I decided it was time to take the steering wheel of and have a look to see what was going on behind it. I got the wheel of just fine but the cover (with the metal/plastic ring in the center) does not want to budge. I have no idea how to get it off and am afraid I will damage it if I use to much force.

Is there a screw or some kind of click mechanism that I should be aware of? Please help me get this cover off so I can replace the faulty spring and fix the low beam problem. Thanks in advance!!!!

EDIT:
Sorry about that: I am the proud owner of an '83 Audi 100 / 5000 1.9 100hp

Yup, that was it thanks

You just have to feel where it is and unscrew it a couple of turns. Not to much or the screw will get lost under the dash

Thanks!
