Default Replace starter, 94 Cabriolet

I'm hoping someone has a working knowledge on replacing a starter on a 94 Cabriolet. I have a repair manual on CD, but can't find it when I need it now. I can see the starter buried deep and one of the two bolts that attach it in cramped quarters. I was wondering if the standard replacement procedures called for dismantling any surrounding parts for access and if so, what parts in what order. Thanks

first i would try to just get the starter off ... 2 or 3 bolts and some wires that should be all ... see if you can get to it better form under the car

its freaking hard, the starter is so deep in. but you can get it. You need an extension to the socket to get it easy.

just make sure that the starter it self is bad. Many times 75% of all bad ones, only the relle is bad.
