Found a 95 S6 that needs a head gasket.. whats a reasonable asking price?

 

You should find out the blue book value, then get a quote for the head gasket repair from a mechanic and subtract that to get a decent asking price. Base value depends on a lot of factors, including mileage and the overall condition of the car.

What caused the gasket to go bad...over boost? overheat with a warpedhead/cracked blockto add in just for a suprise? Did coolant mix into the oil causing rust in the internals?
Did oil mix into the coolant fouling the system?

 

No oil in water ,no fuel in water, no oil in coolant ...changed plugs and filters and ran beautiful all faults went away except cat below specs....but came back about a week later after the hottest day of year incident......same faults...and it doesn't overheat now....changed out coolant of course.not losing coolant...that I know of and is there any headgasket dealers that work for a leak if very mjnute?

 

minute? History...car is pretty much immaculate otherwise high end model with all the bells and whistles inside and out...bought at tow yard were it sat for 2 years for 850 $ put 500 worth of new tires on and tuned up ...for personal use.
