I get a noise as soon s enigine starts , sounds like a goose honking every 2 seconds. Im really baffeled by this. I had disconnected the horns, `just to make sure...i do have p1411 and p1423 come up on diagnostic, i even fixed a hose that had a hole from sec air up to egr. Can someone give me some ideas on what to do..

 

I had the same problem last mnth (2001 a6 4.2l), pcv valve was faulty. In fact the noise you describe was after I replaced it with a new one....it made no sense. Turns out the positioning of the new pcv valve (upright with clamps on both endssecured properly) cured the noise. With the car running, try moving the pcv valve slightly from side to side, forward and backwards, making a good seal with the rubber hose underneath it, this should make the noise go away. The pcv system is under vacuum so if there is an air leak in the system, the pcv will purge the air out the top out it. Its definitely a good place to start diagnosing your issue.
