Hi there!

I have a 2002 A4 3.0 (manual) with about 125k on the odo. I've noticed a fuel smell when I fill the car up all the way. Goes away after I use about 1/4 of a tank. Searched around on the forums and found a few related posts. Seems like it could be a small crack where the filler connects to the tank? Or some sort of fuel nipple thing?

No smell inside the car, just outside.

Another other suggestions for diagnosis?

Is the check engine light on? Could have a evap emissions leak.
