ECU interchangeability? I NEED HELP!
I'm new here, but I've searched every Audi forum known and I cannot find a definitive answer to my question regarding ECU compatibility for my 2001 A6 Allroad 2.7T, Tiptronic.
Here goes: I guy I know has an "T" box ECU out of his 2001 A6 2.7T (NOT Allroad), with Tiptronic. His ECU comes with GIAC stock and 91/93 Octane programs and I would like to install it in my car (he'll sell it to me for $100), so I'd rather not spend the $599 at the GIAC dealer if I can avoid it.
The potential problem that I see is that my ECU is an "M" box and his being a "T" box.
Can anyone give me a definitive answer as to the interchangeability of these ECU's?
if it helps, my car was produced in October of 2000 (not sure if that matters)
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
This forum is GREAT!
