Lightbulb Noob needs help. 92coupe fuel pump woes

Hi.

On Thursday (today Sunday) i had probs starting my Audi 80 coupe 2.0 16v 1992-1993 it fired OK but sounded staved of fuel. but started..
on Friday had same probs. it started thou and got maybe half a mile before cutting out and coming to a stop.

in past i have had a whining coming from the boot. constantly. presumably the fuel pump. but when i now try to start the car the whine is gone..

am i correct in thinking that the fuel pump has given up?

Id just like a second opinion

Thanks in advance

Cool Thanks for all the help...................

Well ... Thanks for all the help..... 210 views... not one reply... not even yup or nope.. or even a blooip..

Oh well.. i was right.. the fuel pump had died... so next time YOU hear a whining in the boot... and it suddenly stops.... lol...its not kidnapping anymore ... its 1st degree murder...or you fuel pump has done one...

Oh.. my day got worse.. i went back to recover the car ... opened the driver door.. and some old div came past and took all his wheel arch paint off on my door... only made a 2 inch sratch on mine... lol

anyways .. i hope if you have a problem ... someone will actually answer you and give you some help...i would love to pitch in on this forum.. but i only know where the petrol goes and which bit is the steering wheel ...
