No I understand lol - I was trying (and should've been more clear) to demonstrate that even an exotic dealership was charging less than 1/3 of what this Audi dealer is bilking out of the OP. I agree that it seems they're using book rate but even so, there's a serious lack of morality in billing that much for what I noted above is an hour's work in the driveway.

Agree on above, I am new to Audi a A6C5 will be daily driver. In no way could I service this car at a dealership, I do not see the value in mechanical services I can complete and I am willing to do. Labor rates include a value put on convenience, tools, skills and knowledge, $400 hr I find absurd, others may not, and find that a dealership offers competent service they can trust, I question the labor rate and level of competency of service work at any dealership. Your choice.

Default Ripped off at Huntington Audi

I spoke with aa Audi Advocate who was very nice and understood my complaint but they have no authority over these charges. She spoke with the service manager and apologized she could not help. I also received a survey from Audi asking about my recent expierence. I responded to the Advocate as well as the survey that I will never again deal with Audi. They have lost a customer.

Sorry to hear that. Not everyone can afford to maintain an Audi properly, and that's ok. Oh damn, didn't spell check my post...... Lets cuss a few times to make us feel better about ourselves.
Next time ask for an oil change and a tune up. Get the same 45min of wrench turning, skip the proprer inspection of the Audi systems, and save a bunch of money. Oh, no platinum infused stamp and less $ back if you trade it in for a new one. Notice there is no judgement in this post, just money saving facts for anyone that does decide to bring their car to the dealership.

I'm just going to clarify on the original post i didn't read all 3 pages..... But you need to understand you are paying for a flat rate repair or service. Audi says a 35k is supposed to take 1.80 hours to do going by their check list. When its customer pay labor rates are multiplied 1.5 times per Audi which equal 2.7 which would be rounded up to 3 hours for a 35k service. If you bought the car new you were offered or CPO you were offered a service plan which covers all services aslong as the car is under warranty.

Now you are paying flat rate.... Every dealer and every independent shop works off of flat rate. So the job pays 3.0 no matter what. It could take a great technician 30 minutes to do or a slow or inexperienced tech 1-2 hours. But also remember with the price your paying for a quality shop wit a quality technician, and quality tools putting in Audi brand parts. A good indy shop isn't cheap either..... cheaper than a dealer but just remember as with everything in life..... You get what you pay for

It truly amazes me that some people will try to justify a labor rate that comes to $600 per hour. There is no justification and it can't be rationally explained.

Just out of curiousity....were you not given an estimate? Did the dealer not disclose what you should expect to pay? I sure hope you didn't simply drop the car off and tell them to "do whatever it needs.

If you were given an estimate, was the total you paid substantially more than the estimate?

I am not siding with the dealership but I just dont see how you did not know what you were going to pay prior to authorizing the work.
