Default Strange situation: Advice sought for handling dealer

My car, 2007 A4 2.0T, was totaled while being driven by a porter from my Audi's service department after having the sun visor clip repaired. My front driver side tire came off causing the porter to slam into a tree. The Audi dealer's insurance company accepted liability and has since totaled the vehicle.

However, the replacement of the sun visor came after service was done in September 2013 (wheel alignment and 2 new front tires) then at the end of October 2013 (2 new rear tires, no wheel alignment necessary). So to have my tire come off was quite a shock.

After the incident, I returned to the dealer for the service department which is the same dealer that I purchased my Audi 6 years ago, and was told not to worry about price but that they would take care of that because it was an employee driving my car that is now totaled. After visiting that same dealer, it appears that their assurance was a bunch of BS. Now I'm without a car and my dealer is not willing to work with me with price even though I was not responsible for the tire coming off.

Not sure if there is something I can do? Does anyone have any suggestions?

If the vehicle was totaled by the insurer and you accepted their payment, that's probably the end of the story. That will vary with your state laws and other details so the best thing you can do is spend a couple of bucks on a lawyer. Sit down for an interview, it may be free, it may cost money. Odds are that if you took the check for your car? He'll tell you to stop wasting your time and just go shopping. There's probably no way a vague unwritten unwitnessed "don't worry" can be enforced anyway.
