My husband and I bought a 2003 A6 Quattro and it needs to be detailed. I'm having trouble finding a professional detailer on the Delmarva Peninsula (I'm near Chincoteague, VA) and so I'm doing some of it myself. The metal around the windows is kind of cloudy and it has white spots on it. I tried cleaning it with "Blue Magic Liquid Metal Polish" and it did absolutely nothing. When I rub it on it's supposed to make a black film appear....but it didn't turn black. Any ideas?

I have similar trim on my car, I believe they might have some sort of clear coat over it. That being said, try a chemical cleaner IE poorboys pro-polish, Jeff workstats prime strong, klasse AIO.

thanks for replying!

Are these products available at WalMart or Lowes? That's pretty much all there is around here.

No these are specific detailing polishes. For a local product try mothers billet polish and try it on an inconspicous area.
