Default 1989 200QT Bose stereo replacement?

I was wondering if anyone who owns an '89 200QT has replaced the Bose stereo with an aftermarket stereo. I would like to upgrade to something with a CD player or an audio input, but I don't know where to start. What size head unit do I need? It appears to be a single-DIN slot, based on other single-DIN units I've seen. Do I need to find a stereo that has a built in amplifier? What things should I look for/avoid. I am looking to spend about $100, hopefully less. What do you recommend? Any tips for installation? Any resources I should look for?
