Alternator whine... in RF only!!??
I have a Pioneer AVIC Z110BT running through the stock amp and speakers, with a JL sub and dedicated amp. Have not had a problem since upgrading from the F90BT at Christmas, nor with the F90BT or the stock Bose/Symphony II before that.
A couple of days ago I started getting alternator whine and humming in the RF door speakers. Normally I would diagnose this as a ground issue and start chasing it down, however with the other speakers unaffected I'm a little baffled. I plan to pull and check the HU as soon as I get a chance, but in the meantime was wondering if any experts out there had suggestions on possible causes. Some thoughts/guesses:
- Broken/chaffed speaker wire
- Amp channel failing
- Defective RCA connection behind HU
- Other??
Thanks
