Fuel Gauge shows empty!!
The vehicle is an A6 Quattro 2005 TDi. The fuel gauge has suddenly started to indicate 'Empty' and the computer screams "Fill Up" when the ignition is switched on.
I assume that the most likely cause is a defective wire/contact between the sender on the fuel tank and the relevant electronic circuit/computer. Can anyone please advise the wire(s) colour(s) and routing to assist me in tracing out the fault?
Many thanks and your assistance is appreciated.

Cant speak for the TDI's because we didn't get those in America for the A6's but I can presume there is a good chance the senders are the same for the petrol version in america. We have had alot of issues with the senders in the A6 here and there are bulletins to change the wiring harness of the fuel pump and senders inside the tank for reading empty when the tank is not empty
