I have a 1990 Audi V8 Quattro. I recently was having some problems keeping it running. I thought it was the alternator because the alternator symbol came up in my check box.

I charged the battery and than started the car. I removed the POSITIVE cable on the battery to test the alternator and the car continued to run.

I'm not sure what to check next but my friend told me to check the ground connections and see if they needed to be tightened or cleaned.

Does anyone have any ideas what I need to check and where the ground connections are!??!
