has anyone tried installing a aftermarket head unit in a b5 s4? the led display is missing some pixels and damn hard to read. i havent found any wiring harnasses or dash kits for this application.

You're correct, there is no dash kit, or wire kit that I've found to work. You'll have to DIY. Lucky for you, I wrote this a while ago:
