I had my 98 A4 inspected today in NY. I replaced the Bose deck with an aftermarket in dash DVD player and the problem is that because the factory deck was replaced it interfeared with the ecu and will not send a signal to the computer for inspection. If NY wasn't gay and you could just slap a sticker on then i'd be cool. But now i'm pissed, anyone having the same problem?? Any solutions??

 

sounds like the diagnostics and crap all run back through that stock deck. if you can find one, you will have to pu that in and get it inspected then take it back out and put your aftermarket deck back in. Yeah its a bitch but its the cheapest thing to do.
