Intermitent heater Fan A4

RE: Intermitent heater Fan A4
I too am having the same issue, but on a 98 A6 2.8. I've replaced the relay (trying a cheap solution first), but that hasn't worked. Next step is the resistor (not the cheapest solution). When the fan runs it is very quiet. The bearings seem fine, no play in the squirrel cage.
Good luck with yours.

RE: Intermitent heater Fan A4
I have an A4 2.4 and having problems with my heater also. I live in the uk. I've checked the fan by taking it out and running it direct to the battery and it runs fine. I've checked the voltage from the terminals they read 11.5 volts, however, when I re-connect the fan to the terminals nothing. I've removed the fan, stuck it on the floor of the car, used wires and ran them form the terminal to the fan, checked the voltage with engine off and it reads fine 11.5 volts, however, when the engine is started the voltage drops to zero. Remember this is an itermitent problem and there are times when the fan run just fine, but only for short periods. When I turn the engine off and the car is lefted for a period of time, the problems starts. I've tried hunting for a manual for my car Audi A4 2.4se V6 engine, but to no avail...................does any one know where I can get one from or a manual for the circuitary of the car.
