Mounting a radar detector in 2012 A6
Need a radar detector in the new ride, but I don't want to mess with the feng shui of the a6 interior with unsightly cords or mess with the visual flow of the MMI display.
I am thinking about the escort 9500ix. I know there is a balance between form and function here. Any recommendations from the forum?

You can run the power cord between the hedliner and the upper w/s frame then down the 'A' pillar to the fues box then hang the radar detector on the windscreen near the rear view mirror. That's what I do.
Some like to hide the RD behind the front grill but this compromises range.

Any automotive electrician or shop that installs radios, etc. should be able to do it for you in 30 minutes or less. Consider the Valentine One. I have owned several radar detectors over the past 20+ years (currently I own two V-1s) and think it is still the best, overall.

The radar detector acts as a transmitter which helps for object detection through the microwaves in their path as transmitted energy, To find the range and some of the things of the object. And it gets the information from the objects with the signals transmits from the by the receiver nothing but the targeted object.
Now this radar detector is mounting in to the A6 (cars) was very helpful. Hope technology used in the cars helps to know the traffic or any thing else which we need to target. Its so advanced version of the technology may gets the good response.

ESCORT 9500ix Hardwire Installed
Used a Direct Wire Cord from Amazon: 79-001059-01
One lesson learned, don't use the Sunroof 20 amp plug. it doesn't cut the power to it when the car is powered off.
Had a little trouble with hiding the wire, Audi builds these cars tight... Here are the photos:
Good Luck!
