Default radio not working

I have a 2007 Q7. A few weeks ago the MMI went out. This past weekend the battery drained. I jumped it. Then I bypassed the fiber optics that go into the amp with a loop. Now the mmi is working but the radio has no sound. when i push on the sound button it does nothing. all the other control buttons are working. Any ideas?

When you lock the car, the hazard warning light switch remains illuminated for a couple of minutes and then it should go out. This indicates that the Canbus system has gone to sleep. If it doesn't, then is the cause of the drain so prob a good place to start.
