rear speakers dont work
ok well ive searched around alot and havent found anything exact to my problem .. I installed a head unit and used a harness i bought from circuit city plugs right into my factory connectors except the cd changer controls plug .. after all this my rear speakers dont work anymore , what do i have to do to get them working - maybe a new harness? i know the rear speakers have an amp so maybe i have to run power to it through the harness ??
Did you get the Metra preamp-style harness with patch cable connectors? You will need that. It allows you to connect your amped rear speakers to the head unit through the line-level output connectors on the aftermarket head unit. That way, the head unit sends a line-level signal to the rear amp, which then drives the rear speakers on its own. The front speakers are connected directly through the wiring harness. If you poke around in the Audio forum, you'll find references to this. For quick info though, here's what you want to buy:

This will allow you to use the aftermarket head unit with the OEM speakers. Cheap enough at the price and it works very well. However, you may be happier just replacing the speakers with aftermarket gear. I ended up doing this a few weeks ago, and although I'm biased and have never really been much of an OEM Bose fan, the aftermarket gear is noticeably better in my opinion. I decided to ditch the whole thing and replace everything - speakers, wiring, head unit, plus add an amp and sub - and it was well worth the effort. If you're not inclined to go that route though, just buy that harness adapter and you'll be good to go.

also i did mention i had some speakers for the rear i was going to install , now to do this would o have to wire them dirctly to the head unit by running new wire or is there a way i can utilize the factory wiring and tap into it .. thanks in advance..
