I have a dealer-installed Audi remote starter on my 2014 S5 with manual transmission. Not a common combination, especially since (I'm in Canada) this isn't apparently offered in the U.S.

I'm finding the whole setup very finicky and flaky. The manual describes several scenarios for setting the starter but only one specific combo actually works. When starting the car remotely, if it works at all, the car will briefly start, then stop. I then have to start remotely again. Sometimes if the sequence is a bit wrong (or sometimes, possibly randomly) I get locked out of the car, only way back in is with the physical key.

Anyone else out there have a similar setup and seen similar issues?
