Default Replacing RNS-E with Symphony II+

The stereo in my 05.5 was originally an RNS-E but the PO replaced it with a Symphony II+. Everything works fine except that it doesn't get good radio reception at all. I've double checked that the antenna is plugged in and it is. Does anyone have some insight as to what may be causing my issues here?

check the rear antenna and see if you have a crack near where the plugs are. Drivers side iirc. That will be the best bet for poor radio reception.

I'm not seeing any cracking however I may not be looking at the right part. Am I looking for cracking at the connector, on the roof antenna, the wire, ???
