Default Stereo turn-on memory

One of my biggest pet peaves is when my wife leaves her stereo turned up, so when I get in and turn it on, it comes on loudly. This is especially obnoxious when I get into my car and I am on my phone.

This bloody radio has a memory that I cannot figure out. I can't find it in the owner's manuel and I tried searching the forums several times. Even the salesmen at the dealership couldn't figure it out.

How do I turn off/down the turn-on memory?

The turn on memory holds your presets, volume position, navigation rntries, etc. You can't get around it. Tell your wife to turn up her hearing aids or give ger the "peoples elbow."

If I turn down the radio, it comes on at a higher level though. It's a factory setting, not based on what the volume is that I set it to last. The owner's manual says "If the volume is set too high when the car is turned off, the volume with be decreased when turned on. If the volume is too low, the volume will be increased when turned on"

Thanks Audi, for telling me what is too high or too low when I turn on my stereo/car. I think Audi must be control freaks.
