Is there a difference between the tip ecu and the manual ecu?

Default Is there a difference between the tip ecu and the manual ecu?
Just bought a GIAC ecu off a guy and didn't realize his car was a manual until it was shipped. Does that matter? Since my automatic B5 S4 has a separate transmission control unit?

Look in the DIY section - you can recode it for use in your car.

I'm not sure. I've done a few of them but I have the full version. Just hook up, get into Vagcom, go to the engine module, and once communication is established, see if the Recode button is available. If it is, you can do it.
