Just bought a GIAC ecu off a guy and didn't realize his car was a manual until it was shipped. Does that matter? Since my automatic B5 S4 has a separate transmission control unit?

 

Look in the DIY section - you can recode it for use in your car.

 

will that work with VCDS lite?

 

I'm not sure. I've done a few of them but I have the full version. Just hook up, get into Vagcom, go to the engine module, and once communication is established, see if the Recode button is available. If it is, you can do it.
