Default Changing wheel size on a 2006 A6 4.2?

I have adaptive air suspension, so it can't be lowered beyond dynamic mode. I'd like to reduce some of the gap between the tire and wheel well. Currently have 18" wheels.

Is it possible to go to a 19" wheel/tire combo on this model such that the entire wheel/tire diameter will be larger, thereby reducing the gap? Will this create any rubbing or handling problems?

Thanks.

yes you can do 19's but the way to eliminate gap is a diff suspension

I don't want to replace the adaptive air suspension, given that I paid extra for it in the first place, and I like how it handles.

So are you saying 19" wheels won't reduce the gap?

What size (width/height) are your 18s now?
How much is the "gap" (at lowest ride setting) and how much do you want to reduce it to.

Note that if you put on wheels/tires with a larger overall diameter that current, the swept distance (how far you cover in one rotation) will increase, throwing off the accuracy of your speedometer.
