Are the headlights on the 96-99 A4 the same headlights that are on a 2000-2001 A4?

 

Nope, the 99.5 model I believe is when the two-piece reflector headlights were deep-sixed in favor of one-piece projectors. I am pretty sure you can swap out onefor the other with only minor work on the inside edges of the fenders.
