Default Incorrect offset.. machine the wheel?

HI there is a wheel that a buyer has ET35 (A4) however my correct offset is Et45 (ET48 prefered) A3.

Has anyone ever machined the wheel to another offset?

Does this work is it reliable?

thx

Default RE: Incorrect offset.. machine the wheel?

You may very well find that the 35mm offset may fit and actually result in a preferable appearance (tighter fit between the shoulder of the tire and the fenderwell). If you have more than a centimeter (10 mm) gap between your a tire mounted on the OEM rim (ET45), then you will have enough room to mount that same tire on a rim with a ET35 offset. That is actually a pretty common offset on these cars.
