Angry Paint Repair - Keyed!

Some deranged moron "keyed" my wifes A8L W12. The scratch runs from the front door to the end of the rear quarter panel. Sickening, since we just got the car about a week ago.

How well can this be repaired? And does anyone have an idea of cost? (I hope not from experience)

Thanks,
PR

What kind of pathetic, jealous POS would do that? I feel for you. If the scratch is through the clear coat into the paint, the three panels will have to be re-painted.

If it's only clear coat it can be buffed out. Any deeper and repaint is your only option.

I have had some luck using touch up paint from paintscratch.com. Depends on how big and how deep the scratches are, you might be able to get way with this. I'll warn you though that while it does improve the look ( depending on your skill ), it won't be perfect.

nxt wax will make most of the scratches dissappear. But like others said if its too deep there is no hope.

Is the metal damaged too or is it just the paint? How long is it?

I have had luck with the little bottles from www.touchuppaintonline.com. But if your key mark is a foot long, then I don't think it will work well. You might have to visit a body shop and see what they say.

What kind of bastard does something like that!?!? Hopefully you'll be able to have it buffed out because if you repaint it it'll never be the same again... (colors will fade differently, I have even seen show ferraris that have off colors due to repaint)
