Just got my 01' A4 tonight, turned on the display and saw maybe 5 lines that aren't out. Add me

 

2000 A6 2.7, same problem, 3-5 lines fading in and out or off on their own recognizance.

Its like, you can't even try to search the junk yards...I've tried to no avail. They all dont work as they should.....its like your dog pissing in your carpet...looking at you with its sad look, then kicking it like the taco bell chiguagua and going to jail for 2 years like Micheal Vick...

 

Same here, 01 S4 with 6-10 lines out. Very irritating, especially since the dealer told me it's not a user replaceable part due to the odometer.
To me its just as annoying as if the odometer needle jumped around.
But not as annoying as the resale value of these cars dropping!

 

BTW, just noticed this thread was started WAY back when, is there any update or is it just a whine post now?

Count me in. 1999 A6 2.8 Quattro. Doesnt work in the summer, okay when its cold.

 

count me in 2001.5 S4 so far the cheapest i found was $350 for the LCD replacement. I have yet replaced it, in fact i just keep it turned off
