No one has actually said what is specifically wrong from what I've read so far and why it is temp sensitive. Nobody has been able to repair it themselves?

 

Same here - got an outrageous quote from the local dealer so dig some digging (here on Audi Forum) and found these guys. Now my A6's message center looks like new for under $225.00. Links to DNA's site and instructions on removing the console.

add me to that list, 2000 a6 2.7t, it seems to get alot worse when its hot out, when its cold u can see that whole lines are gone and half the time i cant read my mpg or trip.

 

Any news about this? I haven't read through the whole thing. 11 pages of posts, you know? I'm frustrated with my instrument cluster mostly because the new one is so expensive, even after the core return. Seems like this shouldn't have been an issue from the beginning. Where should I go to get mine fixed?
