My brakes stopped working the other day, I wasn't doing a hard stop, just a typical slow down for a left turn. The car started to slow down then I heard what sounded like a pop in the rear and lost basically all brake pressure. (minimal stopping power was available by gently pressing down on the brake).

Fortunately I was able to drive it 5 miles home. By keeping it in a low gear.

I found the rear right caliper leaking, so I'm going to replace it however, I also noticed that the parking/e-brake doesn't work at all. Prior to this it always worked, and I regularly used it when parking.

I can't imagine that these two are related problems? Any thoughts, I did read elsewhere that if I hold the handbrake up for 2 seconds a different emergency braking would kick in, however my abs light has been on for a while so :/

The parking brake is part of the rear caliper system. When you replace the caliper, check the cables and make sure they are in good shape and not cracked and rusty.

Thanks for the reply, as it turns out, I had put the rear rotors I had put on were for the 180hp TT. As such my pads fell out and I popped a piston in the caliper.

:/ I feel dumb.

yep.. That'll do it. Either that or grinding the pads down to halfway through the metal backplate on the pads.. LOL I've seen that happen before...
