Default 06 A4 burning oil

My '06 A4 has just about 12K now; the model calls for first oil change at 5K, then 10K following (next one being at 15K). So, I did my first change as required at 5K, and I get the minimum oil service light at little over 8K so I ended up adding a quart. Then just couple of days ago (around 11,750 miles) I get another minimum oil service light. I realize Audi burns oil quite a bit, espcially when driven 'hard'. I am just concern that something might be wrong? There's no leak, this i know - my question is do you guys ever experience adding 2 to 3 quart between changes? Is it not unheard of?

Thank you.

Well my garage is spotless; even if it were leaking slowly, I figure I would see at least couple of drops...
So within almost 7000 miles, I now have added 2 quarts of oil - no one has ever done/heard this?

oil change intervals used to be 3k then 5k and now 10k. used to be at 3k was maybe 1/2 qt low.but now that they are 10k everyone assumes no oil needed to be added.problem is they still use some oil.my feeling is because of higher temps, thinner oils and longer intervals we need to check oil periodically.if your using a qt in 3-5k I think that is ok and would consider it normal.
