1997 A4 no reverse pls help

1997 A4 no reverse pls help
Hi,
Yesterday when i was driving out of my garage my reverse went out after about 5sec.
It didint go to reverse anymore. All other gears work fine.
Next day i find out that when car is cold ( off for at least 2h ) i can get the reverse for 5 sec and then it "turn off".
I have no idea what the probblem is. I dont want to replace tranny, car has only 106K.
Does anybody have any idea what the problem is and how can i fix it?
