Default 1998 A6 ; too much gas

Alright to make it short , my 1998 Audi A6 Quattro is basically drinking gas. My onboard screen says I'm doing , on avg , 11mpg ( +/- 20L/100KM ) This is ridiculous!! It should be around 20mpg...

It runs really great though , no problem starting the engine whatsoever.

What could cause my engine to use this much gas? Could it be bad O2 sensors?

Thank you very much

Sam

O2 sensors and MAF are usually the culprits for bad fuel mileage.

Well turns out that it's the readout the problem. I do around 18mpg ( calculated when I tank ) and I'm mostly city driving.

How do I fix this readout issue?
