1999 A4 headlight out

My son's 1999 A4 2.8 has burned out headlamp. It is an early 1999 so the fog lamps work in the headlight assembly. Can the headlamp bulb be replaced or do we need an entire new headlight assembly?

Goto a local auto parts store (autozone, o'reilys) and try a new bulb (oem) or (stock) replacement and it should be okay.
