Default 1999 A6 Warning lights and no tach

So i recently purchased a 99' Audi A6 non-turbo, non-quattro. 2.8L V6. while driving it today all of a sudden

-ABS light solid
-brake light blinking
-low oil light indicator blinking
-tach drops to zero

all of these things occur at once. they then will go away for a while, then come back. any experience with this or a possible fix?

hrmmmm.

the C5 A6 is/was not available in a 2.7 liter non-turbo engine. I suspect you probably have the 2.8

regardless, your first step is to get a scan. preferably a vag-com VCDS scan but in your situation any OBDII scanner will do for a start. then we will see where we go from there.

based on your intial symptoms, your ABS module is going (blinking brake light+ABS light and you should be getting a BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!)

low oil light and tach are probably unrelated unless they are related

you are correct about it being 2.8L mistype on my part. I have to believe they are all related since all of the lights come on and the tach stops working simultaneously and they all turn off together as well and the tach resumes normal function. the local audi dealership was fairly useless.

Yes, it has been solved. Inside the ABS module there there are 2 very small aluminum pins which supply the power. They eventually break loose from the circuitboard. You have to resodder them to the board. Do not attempt this if you are not qualified.
