Unhappy 1999 Audi A4 Quattro Overheating Diagnosis

Vehicle overheating within 1-mile of operation.
Drained and Replaced coolant 50/50; Replaced thermal switch in lower radiator hose; Replaced Fan Clutch; Electric fan operational/working; Upper and Lower radiator hoses hot. No fluid leakage except through overflow/bypass when overheated.

Next is to replace water pump and thermostat............

Any other ideas?

I would start with replacing the thermostat.

Are you positive all the air has been burped out of the system? These cars use a failsafe thermostat, meaning them at they're designed to lock open when they fail.

Default Big whoops!

The timing belt knocked off when replacing thermostat.

Assuming I've got to start from the begining.....

My 1999 A6 overheated and the lower radiator hose needs to be replaced. The engine will crank but will not start. What could be the problem.
