2.8 timing
So I just replaced the cam shaft timing chains and tensioners but they look to be about a tooth off. It's a dohc. On both sides the cam with the pulley is on mark but the other is slightly off. How important is it that they are spot on? Thanks. I don't want to tare it all apart again if it's not necessary.
ONe tooth off is probably not going cause any damage but you'll have to get it right in order for it to satisfy the ECU, plus it may not idle correctly. I got one of the cams off a tooth on an 03 Eclipse one time and it ran fine. However it would not idle without loping slightly. Had to fix it.
