Hello all,

I was looking into buying a 2000 s4 with about 142k miles on it when i spoke with the salesman he informed me that one of the turbos was beginning to go. With that being said I understand that it will eventually need to be changed out. My question is would I be able to drive this thing from Colorado to New Mexico knowing that one of the turbos may give or is it possible to drive off only 1 working K03 turbo? Until I can return home and get it worked on.

 

You're looking at an engine pull to replace a turbo. That being said, it's foolish to change only one - the other wont be far behind. I'd have him replace them both before you buy, or pass on the car.
