2001 A4 1.8T not starting
Hi all i have a friend with a A4, he was on the motorway when his car just cut out, i have tested all the usual, spark, fuses, etc , and found that there was no fuel pressure, so i moved my attention to the fuel pump. found that the relay was ok, have 12v going into the relay and 12v coming out but when tested at the pump there is only 1.81v, so i put 12v direct from the battery to the pump and it didn't run at all. Also found that there is a pipe about 30mm diameter under the inlet manifold, it seems to come from the top of the oil filter housing and is held in by a circlip sort of thingy, that has come apart at the joint.
Questions are what is the pipe that has split and what would cause the voltage drop from relay to pump?
any suggestions will be most appreciated as this has got me stumped.
cheers all
steve
